Social Media Advertising

Paid social on Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X and YouTube, built on measurement rather than boosted posts.

A social media advertising agency plans, builds and optimises paid campaigns on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X and, through Google Ads, YouTube. We start with measurement: Meta Pixel with the Conversions API, a defined event set and UTM parameters that reconcile with GA4. On that foundation we run a standing creative-testing system, structure audiences by funnel stage and allocate budget on evidence rather than habit. SEO Evaluate is an official Meta partner and a TikTok Marketing Partner.

/01 · Definition

What is a social media advertising agency?

A social media advertising agency plans, builds, measures and optimises paid campaigns on social platforms: Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X and YouTube through Google Ads. Unlike boosting posts, the work runs inside each platform's ads manager with explicit objectives, tracked conversion events, audiences by funnel stage, structured creative testing and budget allocation across platforms. Measurement comes first: pixels, server-side events through the Conversions API and UTM parameters reconciled with GA4, so decisions rest on tracked outcomes rather than likes.

Paid social differs from search advertising in one fundamental way: nobody on Instagram or TikTok is searching for you. The ad has to create the demand, stop the scroll and earn the click, which is why creative is the main lever and a testing system matters more than bid adjustments. Search captures intent; social generates it. The two work best together, which is why this service sits in our paid media family next to Google Ads management.

/03 · Problems we solve

Problems we solve

  • Boosting instead of advertising

Boosted posts optimise for engagement, use limited audiences and report likes. A sales objective needs an Ads Manager campaign with a conversion event, a landing page and an audience plan.

  • No conversion measurement

A Meta Pixel installed years ago, no Conversions API, no custom events for the actions that matter, and a GA4 property that disagrees with every platform.

  • Creative fatigue and one-ad campaigns

The same three creatives run for months, frequency climbs, cost per result rises, and the response is a bigger budget instead of fresh creative.

  • Wrong platform for the objective

B2B lead campaigns on Instagram, awareness budgets on Pinterest for a product nobody plans ahead. The objective and the audience should choose the platform.

Measurement foundations: Pixel, Conversions API, events and attribution

Every engagement starts with a written measurement specification: the Meta Pixel on every page, the Conversions API sending the same events from your server, and a defined event set (PageView, ViewContent, Lead, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase and custom events such as an appointment request), each documented and verified in Events Manager.

The Conversions API matters because a browser-side pixel alone misses events blocked by consent choices, tracking prevention and the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. As Meta Business Help describes it, the Conversions API creates a direct connection between your server and Meta, so events are shared server-to-server rather than only from the browser; when the same event arrives from both Pixel and server, Meta deduplicates it by matching event name and event ID. We configure that deduplication and monitor Event Match Quality; TikTok's Events API and LinkedIn's conversion tracking follow the same principle.

Attribution windows decide which conversions a platform claims. Meta's default for most conversion campaigns is 7-day click and 1-day view, with alternatives such as 1-day click; TikTok and LinkedIn apply their own windows. We set the window per objective and state it in reporting so months and platforms are compared honestly.

Platform numbers will not match GA4, which applies its own data-driven attribution across all channels. Every ad URL therefore carries UTM source, medium, campaign, content and term parameters under one naming convention, so GA4 shows paid social next to search, organic and email. We read the platform for optimisation and GA4 with your CRM for allocation; an unexpectedly large gap is itself a finding, usually consent, tagging or a broken event.

The creative-testing system

In paid social the creative is most of the targeting: the platforms' delivery systems, including Meta's Advantage+ options, find the people who respond to an ad, and the agency's job is to give them enough distinct creatives to choose between. We therefore run creative testing as a standing system with a calendar.

Each cycle tests one variable. Hooks first: the opening seconds of a video or the first line of a static, where most drop-off happens. Then angles: the problem, the proof, the objection. Then formats: Reels-style vertical video, static with text, carousel, user-generated content (UGC) from customers or creators, founder-to-camera and demonstration. Every cycle has a hypothesis, a minimum delivery before judgement and a written decision: scale, iterate or retire.

Creator content gets particular attention because it reads as native in the feed. Through our influencer programme we brief creators with ad usage rights included, then run their posts as Spark Ads on TikTok or as partnership ads through whitelisting on Meta: the ad shows the creator's handle while budget, targeting and reporting stay in your account. Rising frequency and falling click-through trigger a refresh from a per-platform library of winning hooks.

Audiences, funnel structure and budget allocation

Audiences are built by funnel stage. Prospecting uses broad or interest audiences and lookalikes seeded from purchasers or qualified CRM leads, not all site visitors. Consideration re-engages video viewers, profile engagers and visitors who did not act. Conversion-stage remarketing targets cart abandoners, form starters and high-intent page viewers with offer- and proof-led creative, excludes recent converters and respects a frequency ceiling written into the plan.

Budget follows in three steps. The objective selects candidate platforms from the map above. A learning allocation gives each candidate enough spend to leave the learning phase and produce a readable sample of the conversion event; starving four platforms produces four unreadable tests. Monthly reallocation then moves budget towards the platform-and-stage combinations with the lowest cost per qualified outcome, verified in GA4 and your CRM.

Funnel balance is a separate rule: remarketing alone looks efficient because it harvests demand created elsewhere, so a minimum prospecting share is protected and cost per result is judged at account level. Scaling follows a rule, not a feeling: a campaign meeting its target with stable frequency is increased in controlled steps so the delivery system does not reset. Seasonality, stock, clinic capacity and sales capacity are inputs, because a lead nobody can call is not a result.

/08 · Method and process

How a paid social engagement runs

Five steps; the first two finish before any budget is spent, the last repeats monthly.

  1. 01

    Paid social review

We audit ad accounts, Pixel and Conversions API setup, event coverage, audience structure, creative history and GA4 reconciliation, then document what blocks measurement and the first platform mix.

  2. 02

    Measurement setup

Pixel, Conversions API, TikTok Events API and LinkedIn Insight Tag are implemented or corrected with your developers; events are verified, a UTM convention agreed, GA4 and CRM reporting connected.

  3. 03

    Plan and account build

Objective map, audience architecture, exclusions, frequency rules, landing-page requirements, naming conventions and the first creative cycle are written down, then built in each ads manager.

  4. 04

    Launch and learning period

Campaigns launch with learning allocations; we monitor delivery, event firing and early creative signals daily and avoid edits that restart the learning phase.

  5. 05

    Monthly optimisation and reallocation

Creative cycles continue, budget is reallocated on evidence, the attribution gap is reviewed and a written report states what changed and why.

/10 · Measurement and KPIs

How we measure paid social

Each platform reports inside its own attribution window; this scorecard is read next to GA4 and your CRM. No metric is promised at a level.

  • Efficiency

    Cost per qualified outcome

Cost per lead, booking or purchase after CRM qualification, by platform and funnel stage.

  • Measurement

    Event coverage and match quality

Share of key events received by Pixel and server, deduplication status and Event Match Quality.

  • Creative

    Creative velocity and winner rate

Variations tested per cycle, the share that beat the control and time to fatigue.

  • Growth

    Prospecting share and new-customer rate

Share of budget and outcomes from audiences new to you.

/11 · Common challenges

Common challenges in paid social

  • iOS privacy and signal loss

Since App Tracking Transparency, fewer iOS users share tracking data, so platform-reported conversions are partly modelled and delayed. The Conversions API, consent-aware tagging and GA4 reconciliation reduce the gap without removing it.

  • Creative fatigue and frequency

Social audiences see the same ad many times within weeks, and small markets such as one procedure for Gulf patients saturate quickly. Frequency caps, a refresh cadence and broader prospecting manage it.

  • Learning phase resets

Large budget changes and frequent edits throw campaigns back into learning. We change less, in larger steps, on a schedule.

  • Platform policy for health and aesthetics

Meta restricts before-and-after imagery and certain claims; TikTok prohibits cosmetic-procedure advertising in many markets. Clinic campaigns are planned around what each platform permits per country.

How SEO Evaluate approaches social media advertising

SEO Evaluate is an official Meta partner and a TikTok Marketing Partner. In practice that means we work inside the platforms' partner tooling and follow Meta Business Help and TikTok's published guidance rather than workarounds; it does not mean preferential pricing or results, and we do not claim either.

Our programmes are built for Türkiye, the Gulf and Europe, and for Persian-speaking audiences outside Iran, with ad copy and landing-page text produced natively in Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian. Right-to-left creative and per-country policy differences for clinics are part of the standard build.

We treat paid social as one part of a paid media programme: search captures intent, social creates and nurtures it, YouTube explains, and GA4 shows how they combine. The paid social review returns a written plan, a measurement specification and a first testing cycle you can act on with or without us.

/15 · Frequently asked questions

Social media advertising: frequently asked questions

What does a social media advertising agency do that boosting does not?

Boosting promotes an existing post for engagement with limited objectives and audiences. An agency works in the platforms' ads managers with conversion objectives, tracked events, audiences by funnel stage, a creative-testing system and cross-platform budget allocation, and reports against GA4 and your CRM rather than likes.

Which platform fits my goal?

Start from the objective and the audience. B2C products and clinics usually begin on Meta, add TikTok when the offer works in short vertical video and YouTube when it needs explaining. B2B and SaaS begin on LinkedIn with Meta for remarketing; Pinterest suits visually planned categories; X is used selectively.

How do you measure paid social?

With a measurement layer built before launch: Meta Pixel plus Conversions API, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn conversion tracking and UTM parameters on every ad. Platform reports drive optimisation within their own attribution windows; GA4 and your CRM drive cross-channel allocation. The gap between them is reported, not hidden.

What is the Conversions API and do we need it?

The Conversions API sends website or CRM events to Meta from your server rather than only from the browser Pixel; Meta Business Help describes it as a direct server-to-server connection. It recovers events lost to consent choices and iOS privacy prompts, with duplicates removed by event name and event ID. For accounts optimising towards conversions we treat it as required.

How are creatives tested?

In fixed cycles, one variable at a time: hooks, then angles, then formats including UGC and creator content. Each cycle has a hypothesis, a minimum delivery before judgement and a written decision to scale, iterate or retire; winning hooks go into a per-platform library.

How is the budget split between platforms?

The objective selects candidate platforms, each receives a learning allocation large enough to produce a readable sample, and monthly reallocation moves budget to the combinations with the lowest cost per qualified outcome in GA4 and your CRM. A minimum prospecting share is protected so remarketing has demand to work on.

Can you run ads with our influencers' content?

Yes. With usage rights agreed in the creator brief, creator posts run as Spark Ads on TikTok and as partnership ads through whitelisting on Meta. The ad shows the creator's handle while budget, targeting and reporting remain in your ad account.
