Social Media Strategy & Consulting

Your people run the accounts. We give them the strategy, rules and measurement to run them well.

A social media consultant sets the direction, rules and measurement for accounts that someone else operates. In this service SEO Evaluate does not post on your behalf. We audit your accounts, content, audience and competitors, turn platform and content decisions into a written social media strategy, define who approves what and what happens in a crisis, and run working sessions so your in-house team can carry the strategy without us.

/01 · Definition

What does a social media consultant do?

A social media consultant audits a brand's social presence and writes the strategy, rules and measurement model that its own team or agency then executes. The work covers account and content audits, platform selection, content pillars, tone of voice, editorial calendar design, community and crisis guidelines, influencer policy, approval workflows and KPI reporting. Unlike social media management, the consultant does not run the accounts: the output is decisions, documents and an in-house team able to apply them.

Strategy consulting answers the question daily posting skips: what job is social media meant to do for this business? Generate enquiries, build trust before a considered purchase, carry customer service, support hiring? Each answer leads to different platforms, formats and metrics; without one, even a hard-working team fills the calendar for its own sake.

At SEO Evaluate, strategy consulting is the strategy phase of our management service, sold on its own. When we manage social, we operate the accounts; when we consult, we write the decisions with you and leave execution with your people. Every output is built for its user: a decision paper, a calendar template, a one-page crisis playbook.

/03 · Problems we solve

Problems social media strategy consulting solves

  • Present everywhere, effective nowhere

Six open accounts, irregular posting on each. A platform decision states which accounts to grow, which to maintain and which to close.

  • No one knows who signs off

One post goes live after a chain of messages, another waits two days. A RACI matrix names who drafts, approves and is informed for each content type.

  • Nobody knows what to do in a crisis

A wave of negative comments sits unanswered for hours, or is deleted in a panic and becomes a bigger story than the original.

  • Organic and paid in separate worlds

The most-saved organic post never becomes an ad; the message that wins in paid testing never returns to the organic plan. Split rules put both sides on one decision path.

  • Influencer deals negotiated from scratch

Who is chosen, how the partnership is disclosed, who owns the content afterwards: without a written policy, every deal reopens the same questions.

/05 · Method and process

How we build a social media strategy: seven steps

The steps follow a full strategy project. A one-off audit concentrates on the first two; ongoing advisory concentrates on the last two.

  1. 01

    1. Discovery and access

We cover your business goals, sales process, team capacity and current tools, and ask for read-only or analyst access to the accounts, never shared passwords. Brand guidelines, past reports and campaign files are collected here, so the audit builds on what you already know.

  2. 02

    2. Social media audit

Four layers: accounts (profile data, verification, links, access rights), the content archive (format, topic and performance patterns), audience (who follows, who engages, in which language) and competitors (platforms, content, tone). The result is a report that shows strengths and gaps with the evidence behind each.

  3. 03

    3. Platform and audience decisions

For Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X and Pinterest we ask one question: what job will this platform do, for this audience, with this team's capacity? Each kept platform gets a defined role; the rest get a maintenance or retirement recommendation. Multilingual brands choose here between separate accounts and one account in several languages.

  4. 04

    4. Content system

We define content pillars, the purpose and formats of each, the tone of voice and how it shifts by language. Then we design the editorial calendar template and weekly workflow: where ideas come from, who drafts, who approves, how far ahead content is ready. We build the structure; your team fills it.

  5. 05

    5. Governance and compliance

Community guidelines, the crisis and escalation playbook, the influencer policy and the RACI matrix are written here, each checked against KVKK and GDPR and against platform rules such as the Meta Business Help Center and TikTok's policy documentation. In regulated sectors, the person who approves claims is named inside your organisation.

  6. 06

    6. Measurement model

We build a KPI tree from the business goal down: reach, engagement, intent and outcome layers, each with its data source. UTM conventions, source fields on forms and inboxes, and a monthly reporting template complete the model. The report is designed to force next month's decision, not to describe last month.

  7. 07

    7. Enablement and handover

The strategy is delivered in workshops built around your own accounts: using the calendar template, rehearsing the crisis playbook, reading the report. These are client-specific working sessions, not a training course. We finish with a written handover note and stay available during the first weeks of execution.

Engagement models: one-off audit, strategy project or ongoing advisory

A one-off social media audit is an outside snapshot of where you stand: accounts, content, audience and competitors reviewed, findings delivered as prioritised recommendations. It suits brands that want an independent view of their agency's work, or a new social lead deciding where to start.

A strategy project covers all seven steps and ends with a complete strategy your team can execute. Duration depends on the number of platforms and languages; scope is agreed in writing after the first conversation.

Ongoing advisory keeps an outside reviewer next to the team running the strategy: a monthly review, reading the report together, feedback on calendar and creative, and a call before a launch or during a difficult week. The accounts stay with you.

Every engagement ends in a handoff. If your team can run the strategy, it goes to them. If capacity falls short, it becomes the brief for social media management, where SEO Evaluate operates the accounts. If you want to buy reach, the paid–organic split rules become the starting document for social media advertising. The strategy is carried over, not rewritten.

/07 · Measurement and KPIs

How social media consulting is measured

Consulting is judged on two levels: is the strategy being executed, and is it moving business goals? No metric is promised at a set level; each is tracked against the audit baseline.

  • Adoption

    Execution rate

Share of planned calendar items that go live on time and through the approval workflow, read from the calendar and approval log.

  • Reach

    Reach against each platform's role

Performance judged by each platform's job: non-follower reach on a discovery account, saves and shares on a trust account.

  • Intent

    Intent signals

Profile visits, link clicks and conversations started, measured from platform insights and UTM-tagged links in GA4.

  • Outcomes

    Contribution to leads and sales

Source fields on forms and messages, CRM records and social's share in GA4; tracking is set up through analytics work.

  • Community

    Community and crisis response

Median first-response time, escalations closed per the playbook, and the balance of positive to negative comments.

Regulated sectors and multilingual audiences

For healthcare, aesthetics and health-tourism brands, a social media strategy starts by defining what cannot be said. Before-and-after images, outcome statements and patient stories are limited by Turkish regulation and by the platforms' health policies. We build those limits into the strategy and approval workflow; medical claims are approved by your own clinicians. SEO Evaluate does not give medical sign-off; we design a workflow in which that sign-off cannot be skipped.

Personal data belongs in the strategy too. Health details sent by direct message, phone numbers in comments and data exchanged with influencers need storage and transfer rules that hold up under KVKK and, for European audiences, GDPR.

Each language is planned for its own readers. Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian content is produced natively with reviewer approval, and right-to-left typography, subtitles and replies in Arabic and Persian are treated as design decisions of their own. Persian-language content is planned for Persian speakers wherever they live; paid distribution is recommended only in markets where the platforms deliver ads.

/09 · Common challenges

Common challenges in social media consulting

  • The strategy stays in a drawer

A good document that is never used. Each output is built as a template or workflow, and the workshops end with your team filling in the first week of the calendar.

  • Decision-makers arrive late

A strategy written with marketing gets rewritten by legal or the board at the last minute. Discovery maps the whole approval chain at the start.

  • Ambition outruns capacity

Six platforms and daily video do not fit a person with a few hours a week. Platform decisions are sized to the capacity you actually have.

/10 · Strategic considerations

When consulting is, and is not, the right buy

  • No one to execute means no point consulting

If nobody in-house will run the accounts, a strategy document will not be executed. Social media management, which includes the strategy work, is the better start.

  • The problem is ad performance

If organic direction is clear but the ad accounts underperform, you need an ad account audit and management, not strategy consulting.

  • The question spans all of digital marketing

If budgets and priorities must be set across search, ads, content and social, a cross-channel digital strategy comes first.

  • You are looking for a training course

Our workshops are working sessions on your own accounts and strategy. We do not offer certified courses or general training programmes.

/11 · Frequently asked questions

Social media consultant: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a social media consultant and a social media manager?

A social media manager operates the accounts: planning the calendar, producing and publishing content, answering comments and reporting. A social media consultant sets the direction those activities follow: platform choices, content pillars, tone, approvals, crisis rules and measurement. The consultant does not post. The consultant's strategy becomes the manager's working brief, whether that manager is in-house or an agency.

What should a social media strategy include?

A complete social media strategy states the business goal, the target audience and the role of each platform. It defines content pillars, tone of voice and language differences, the calendar structure and approval workflow, community and crisis rules, the influencer policy, rules for moving organic content into paid, and a KPI tree with data sources. Each part should name who uses it and how.

How do you work with an in-house team that already runs our accounts?

We take read-only or analyst access and never post. During the audit we interview the people who run the accounts and share drafts for their feedback before anything is final. Delivery happens in workshops built around your own content. In ongoing advisory we read the monthly report with the team and give written feedback on calendar and creative.

How long does a social media strategy project take?

It depends on the number of platforms, the number of languages and the length of your approval chain. A one-off audit is considerably shorter than a full strategy project, and a multilingual, regulated brand takes longer than a single-language brand on two platforms. We agree a timeline with the written scope after the first conversation, with a delivery date for each step.

Who approves health-related social content?

Yes. Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian content is produced natively with reviewer approval. The strategy chooses between separate accounts and one multilingual account, sets tone per language and handles right-to-left typography. Persian-language content is planned for Persian speakers wherever they live; paid distribution is recommended only where the platforms deliver ads.

Do you plan Persian and Arabic social media strategies?

Yes. Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian content is produced natively with reviewer approval. The strategy decides between separate accounts and one multilingual account, sets tone per language and handles right-to-left typography. Persian-language content is planned for Persian-speaking audiences wherever they live; paid distribution is recommended only in markets where the platforms deliver ads.

Can the strategy hand off to social media management or paid social?

Yes, without being rewritten. If your team lacks capacity, the strategy moves into social media management, where SEO Evaluate operates the accounts. If you want to buy reach, the paid–organic split rules become the starting document for social media advertising. If your team can run it alone, ongoing advisory keeps an outside reviewer alongside them.
