Local SEO & Google Business Profile

Correct, consistent and multilingual local listings for clinics and multi-location businesses, measured by the calls, routes and bookings they produce.

Local SEO services decide whether a nearby patient or customer finds your clinic or branch in Google Maps, with the right hours, phone number and services, or finds a competitor. SEO Evaluate audits and rebuilds your Google Business Profile, your citations and the location pages on your website, sets up a review process that stays inside Google's rules, and measures calls, direction requests and website visits. The focus is clinics and multi-location businesses in Türkiye that serve both local and international patients.

/01 · Definition

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the work that makes a business with a physical location or a defined service area appear in Google Maps and in the local results of Google Search for nearby searchers. It covers the Google Business Profile, the consistency of name, address and phone number across the web, reviews, location pages and local structured data on the business's own website. Google Business Profile Help names three factors behind local results: relevance, distance and prominence.

Distance is outside your control: it is where the searcher is, or the place they type. Relevance and prominence are not. Relevance depends on how well your categories, services and website content match the search. Prominence reflects how well known the business is, through reviews, mentions, links and the strength of your website in ordinary search results.

Most of the work is therefore practical: correct facts, kept identical everywhere, genuine reviews, and a website that describes each location clearly.

/03 · Problems we solve

Local search problems we fix

  • Wrong or conflicting business details

Old phone numbers, a former address or different opening hours on Google, Apple Maps, Yandex Maps, directories and your own website. Searchers lose trust and Google loses confidence in which version is correct.

  • Duplicate, unverified or unclaimed profiles

A second listing created by a former supplier, a doctor's personal listing competing with the clinic, or a branch profile no one can access any more.

  • Wrong primary category

A clinic listed under a broad category while the specific one that matches the treatment people search for goes unused; categories are among the strongest relevance signals a profile carries.

  • No way to tell what the listing brings

Calls and direction requests are invisible in website analytics, and visits from the profile are mixed into organic traffic because the website link carries no tracking parameters.

Google Business Profile optimisation: what we actually change

The business name must match the name on your signage and documents. Adding treatment or city names to it breaks Google's guidelines and is a common reason for suspensions, so we remove keyword stuffing rather than add it. Relevance comes from the primary category, carefully chosen secondary categories, a services list with plain descriptions, and the attributes that apply to you, such as accessibility or languages spoken where Google offers them.

Real photos of the entrance and reception help people recognise the place on arrival. Posts and, where Google still shows them, questions and answers carry practical information such as parking, not slogans.

Ownership stays with you. We work through a manager role you grant and document who holds primary ownership of each profile, so access is never lost when a staff member or supplier changes.

Reviews: asking, replying and staying inside Google's policy

Google's review policies prohibit offering anything in return for a review and prohibit review gating: asking only the patients you expect to be satisfied, or filtering people through a private survey before sending happy ones to Google. We design a process that asks every patient or customer at the same point in the journey, with the same short link.

Replies matter as much as requests. We write reply guidelines and templates, agree an escalation path for complaints and set a response rhythm your staff can keep. For clinics, a reply must never confirm that a reviewer is a patient or discuss treatment, because that discloses health information. Medical wording in replies, posts and service descriptions is approved by your own clinicians.

Multilingual local presence for international patients

A patient abroad often finds a clinic first in Google Maps, then checks reviews and the website in their own language. A Business Profile has one name and one description, and Google may machine-translate parts of it for the viewer, so most multilingual work happens elsewhere: location pages written for each language, languages-spoken attributes, services described in the terms patients use, and reviews patients leave naturally in their own language.

We plan which languages each location really supports, link each profile to the right language version of its location page, and make that version answer practical questions such as how to get there from the airport. SEO Evaluate produces Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian copy natively with reviewer approval.

Location pages and local structured data on your website

Every real location needs a page on your website that Google can connect to its profile: the same name, address and phone number, opening hours, a map, directions, the services and practitioners at that branch, and photos of the actual premises. Pages that only swap the city name in identical text can be treated as doorway pages, so each page must genuinely differ.

Each page gets JSON-LD following Schema.org: LocalBusiness, or a more specific type such as MedicalClinic or Dentist, with address, coordinates, hours and a link to the profile. The markup sits on your site, describes your business and must match what is visible on the page. Your developers implement it from our templates.

/09 · Deliverables

What a local SEO engagement delivers

The scope for one location; multi-location brands receive the same items per branch on a shared template.

  1. 01Local SEO audit of each Business Profile, the main map platforms, citations, location pages and local markup, ranked by impact.
  2. 02Profile optimisation: categories, services, attributes, description, hours, a photo brief and duplicate clean-up.
  3. 03NAP master record per location and a citation clean-up list.
  4. 04Review request process, reply guidelines, templates and a complaint escalation path aligned with Google's review policies.
  5. 05Location page specification per branch and language, with a tracked link from the profile.
  6. 06JSON-LD templates for LocalBusiness or MedicalBusiness types, validated after release.
  7. 07Multilingual listing plan per location.
  8. 08UTM-tagged profile links, GA4 events for calls and bookings, and a monthly report by location.

/10 · Method and process

How we run local SEO, step by step

Five steps; for multi-location brands steps two to four run in batches of branches.

  1. 01

    Access and inventory

We request manager access to every Business Profile, Search Console and GA4, then list every location, every existing listing we can find and who owns each account. Missing ownership is resolved first, because edits on a profile you do not control can be overwritten.

  2. 02

    Audit and master record

Each profile, citation and location page is checked against one master record of name, address, phone, hours, categories and services. Conflicts, duplicates, missing pages and markup errors are ranked by how much they affect accuracy and visibility.

  3. 03

    Profile and citation fixes

We correct profiles with your approval, request removal of duplicates through Google's own processes, and update the main directories and map platforms, including Apple Business Connect, Yandex Haritalar and Bing Places.

  4. 04

    Website and review process

Location pages and structured data become tickets for your developers or content owners, and the review process is rolled out to front-desk or patient-coordinator staff with a short written guide.

  5. 05

    Measurement and monthly review

Tracked links and GA4 events go live early to set a baseline. Each month we review profile performance, calls, routes and bookings by location, check for unwanted edits and agree the next priorities.

/11 · Measurement and KPIs

How we measure local SEO

We report actions and outcomes by location, not vanity rank positions. A rank snapshot from one spot is only a diagnostic, because local results change with every searcher's position.

  • Actions

    Profile interactions

Calls, direction requests, website clicks and bookings from Business Profile performance data, per location and month.

  • Traffic

    Profile visits on the website

Sessions from UTM-tagged profile links in GA4, separated from other organic traffic.

  • Leads

    Conversions from local visits

Booking forms, click-to-call and messaging clicks recorded as GA4 key events and attributed to the location.

  • Accuracy

    Data accuracy

Listings and citations that match the master record, plus unwanted edits found and reverted.

  • Reviews

    Review health

New reviews, reply coverage and reply time; volume is tracked, never bought or filtered.

/12 · Common challenges

Challenges in local SEO projects

  • Lost profile ownership

Profiles registered to a former employee's email or a previous supplier; recovery runs through Google's ownership request process and takes time.

  • Suspensions and verification

Address or name changes can trigger re-verification; we prepare the evidence before making the change.

  • Edits made by others

Anyone can suggest edits to a public listing and Google sometimes accepts them; monthly checks catch changed hours, numbers or categories.

  • Front-desk adoption

The review process only works if reception uses it every day; we keep it short and brief the people who run it.

/13 · Strategic considerations

Before you buy local SEO

  • When local SEO is not the right buy

If you have no location customers visit and no defined area you travel to, as with a purely online shop or a software product, local SEO has nothing to work with. Broader SEO and content work will serve you better.

  • Remote delivery

SEO Evaluate is a remote-first agency without a storefront of its own. We do not need to be in your city to manage your listings; the work runs through the access you grant, and photos come from you or your photographer.

  • Address eligibility

A profile is only valid for an address where you are present and serve people during stated hours. We do not create listings at virtual offices or for locations that do not exist.

  • Website foundation

If location pages cannot be indexed or load slowly on mobile, profile work is held back; a technical check of the site comes first when that is the bottleneck.

/15 · Frequently asked questions

Local SEO: frequently asked questions

What is local SEO?

Local SEO helps a business with a physical location or a service area appear in Google Maps and local search results. It covers the Google Business Profile, consistent name, address and phone details across the web, reviews, location pages and local structured data on the business's own website, and it is measured by calls, direction requests and bookings.

How does Google decide which businesses appear in local results?

Google Business Profile Help describes three main factors. Relevance is how well the profile and website match the search. Distance is how far the business is from the searcher or the searched place. Prominence is how well known the business is, including reviews, mentions, links and its standing in ordinary search results.

Can we do local SEO without a physical address?

Yes, if you serve customers at their location within a defined area: you set up a service-area profile with the address hidden. If you have neither a place customers visit nor an area you travel to, local SEO is not the right investment, and broader SEO and content work fits better.

How do you manage local SEO for many locations?

Each real, staffed location gets its own verified profile and location page, built from one master record and one set of naming and category rules. Locations are grouped in Business Profile Manager, every profile link is tagged for GA4, and a monthly report compares branches so a problem at one location is visible quickly.

Are we allowed to ask patients for Google reviews?

Yes. Google allows businesses to ask for reviews, but not to offer anything in return or to ask only the people expected to be positive. We set up a process that asks every patient at the same point with the same link, plus reply guidelines that never confirm someone is a patient or discuss their treatment.

Which language should our profile be in for international patients?

The business name must match your real signage, and the description is a single text Google may machine-translate for viewers. Multilingual reach therefore comes mainly from location pages written in each patient language, accurate language attributes and reviews patients leave in their own language. We plan which languages each location genuinely supports.

How is local SEO different from technical SEO?

Technical SEO makes the whole website crawlable, fast and indexable. Local SEO works on the Business Profile, map platforms, citations, reviews and location pages. The two meet on the location pages and their structured data: if those pages cannot be indexed or are slow on mobile, the profile points to a weaker website.

Do Apple Maps and Yandex Maps matter in Türkiye?

Google Business Profile is where we start, because it feeds both Google Maps and Google's local results. Apple Business Connect controls how you appear in Apple Maps for iPhone users, including visiting patients, and Yandex Maps is the default map for some visitors. We keep both consistent with the same master record.
