AUTOMOTIVE · REPAIR & ROADSIDE
Marketing and local SEO for auto repair and roadside assistance
When a car breaks down, the business that answers first usually gets the job.
Automotive service marketing is the work that makes a repair shop, mobile mechanic or roadside assistance service the one a driver finds and calls when something goes wrong. Searches are local, urgent and often brand-specific, and most of them end in a phone call. SEO Evaluate sets up the Google Business Profile, service-area and make-specific pages, and local campaigns measured on answered calls and bookings. We have done this work for two 24/7 roadside assistance and repair brands in Tehran: Hyundai724 and Toyota724.

DEFINITION
What makes automotive service marketing different?
Most local businesses compete on reputation and convenience. Automotive service adds urgency: a driver with a flat battery or a breakdown at night searches on a phone, compares two or three results in seconds and calls. The business that is visible in that area, shows it is open now and answers the phone wins the job.
That puts the Google Business Profile, map results and call handling at the centre of the work, with pages and ads built around makes, faults and areas. Our overview of the local ranking factors that still matter covers the map side in detail.
| Topic | Planned repair and maintenance | Emergency repair and roadside assistance |
|---|---|---|
| Search moment | Days ahead, often from home | Right now, on a phone, often at the roadside |
| What decides | Price, reviews, appointment availability | Open now, distance, response time, a phone that gets answered |
| Conversion | Online booking or call | Call or WhatsApp message |
| Main channels | Organic search, map results, reviews | Map results, call ads, Business Profile |
| Measure of success | Bookings and repeat visits | Answered calls, dispatches and completed jobs |
SCOPE
Which automotive businesses do we work with?
Our direct project experience is in emergency repair and roadside assistance: service-area businesses that send a mechanic or a tow to the driver. The same approach fits independent repair shops, mobile mechanics, make-specialist workshops, towing services and technical service businesses that repair or maintain equipment at the customer's site.
What we don't do: dealership inventory marketing, parts e-commerce, or dispatching jobs. Your team answers the phone and does the repair; we make sure the right calls reach you.
PROBLEMS
Common problems in automotive service marketing
- 01
Calls are the conversion, and nobody tracks them.
Most automotive leads arrive by phone. Without call tracking per channel and page, nobody knows which search, campaign or listing produced the calls, or how many went unanswered at night.
- 02
The Business Profile doesn't match the service model.
A mobile or roadside service is a service-area business, but its profile is set up like a walk-in workshop, with the wrong categories, a missing service area and hours that don't show 24/7 availability.
- 03
One generic page for every make, fault and area.
Drivers search for their make, their problem and their district. A single services page can't answer "Toyota battery jump start" and "Hyundai towing at night" at the same time.
- 04
Brand names used in a way that misleads.
Independent services that work on specific makes need to say so without implying they are an authorized dealer or the manufacturer's own service. Getting this wrong risks ad disapprovals, trademark complaints and lost trust.
- 05
Ads run when nobody can answer.
Campaigns that spend outside the hours the phone is staffed, or across areas the team can't reach in time, pay for calls that end in a missed job.
CLIENT WORK
Automotive service brands we have worked with
Two sister brands from our client results, named with their permission. We describe the scope of the work; we don't publish their performance figures.
Hyundai724: 24/7 roadside assistance and repair
A 24/7 roadside assistance and on-site repair service for Hyundai and other makes in Tehran and its suburbs (hyundai724.com (opens in a new tab)). We worked on its digital presence and local SEO: service coverage, fast-response positioning and the service offering.
Toyota724: Toyota and Lexus roadside service
A sister brand with a Toyota- and Lexus-focused 24/7 service model in Tehran (toyota724.com (opens in a new tab)). We implemented its web, SEO and local visibility setup while keeping a brand identity distinct from Hyundai724.
SEARCH BEHAVIOUR
How drivers search for repair and roadside help
Drivers combine three things: their make, their problem and where they are. Many searches have no place name at all, because the search engine uses the phone's location. The table shows the query types we plan pages and campaigns around.
| Query type | Example | What answers it |
|---|---|---|
| Urgent, near me | roadside assistance near me, 24 hour mechanic | Business Profile with service area and 24/7 hours, call ads |
| Make plus service | Toyota battery replacement at home | Make-specific service page with tap-to-call |
| Fault or symptom | car won't start, overheating engine | Fault guide pages linking to the service and the phone number |
| Area | towing service in a named district | Area pages with real coverage details, not swapped place names |
| Price and trust | roadside assistance cost, reviews | Clear price ranges where possible, reviews, response-time promise you can keep |
CHANNELS
Channel mix for repair and roadside businesses
| Channel | Role | Measured on |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile and map results | Being in the map pack for the area and showing you're open now | Calls, direction requests and messages from the profile |
| Google Ads call and search campaigns | Covering urgent searches in your area and hours | Cost per answered call and per completed job |
| Organic search | Make, fault and area pages that answer specific searches | Calls and bookings from organic landing pages |
| Reviews | Trust at the moment of choice | Review count, recency and replies |
| Social ads | Keeping the number in mind before the breakdown happens | Calls, saves and profile visits in the service area |

CONSIDERATIONS
Brand names, listings and pricing: points to plan for
Independent services may say which makes they work on, but pages, ads and business names shouldn't suggest that the business is an authorized dealer or the manufacturer's service. Google Ads applies trademark rules to brand names in ad text, and manufacturers can file complaints.
Google's Business Profile guidelines require the real business name (no added keywords), hide the address for service-area businesses that don't receive customers at their location, and allow one profile per real location. Our guide to Business Profile setup and optimization covers the details.
If you show prices, they should match what customers pay, including call-out or night surcharges, in line with local consumer-protection rules.

Automotive service marketing: frequently asked questions
Do roadside assistance businesses need a website, or is a Business Profile enough?
The profile wins most urgent map searches, but a fast website gives Google and drivers the detail the profile can't: makes covered, services, areas and prices. It is also where ads land and where calls can be tracked by page.
Can an independent service use a car brand's name in its marketing?
It can say which makes it works on, but it shouldn't imply it is an authorized dealer or the manufacturer's own service. Ads also have to follow Google's trademark rules. Check edge cases with your legal advisor.
How do you measure results when most customers call?
With call tracking per channel and page, calls counted as conversions in Google Ads, and a job log that records where each call came from. That shows cost per completed job, not just cost per click.
Should we create a page for every district we serve?
Only where you can say something specific: real coverage, response times or services in that area. Pages that only swap the place name are treated as doorway pages and can hurt the whole site.
Which automotive businesses have you worked with?
Hyundai724 and Toyota724, two 24/7 roadside assistance and repair brands in Tehran. Both are listed on our Results page with the scope of the work.
